Meet The Team

Katie Tams - Owner & Personal Trainer

Hi, I'm Katie. Owner of 'Mama Be Fit' and personal trainer, specialising in pre & postnatal exercise. I'm a Mum of 2 boys and our little toy poodle! In 2015 after having my first baby I qualified as a personal trainer and this is where my love of fitness and nutrition began.

Having experienced the amazing benefits of exercising healthily whilst pregnant and also after childbirth I strongly believe it can make a huge difference to your labour and also your recovery.

I focus purely on supporting new and expectant mums with their fitness journey, and provide a space where you can safely workout around your little ones, and also meet other new mums along the way.

Charlie Russell - Class Instructor

Hey everyone!
My name is Charlie and I have a little boy, Hector, who is 5. I've always enjoyed the gym and keeping fit but when Covid hit in 2020 I used it as a good excuse to eat (a lot of) banana bread, drink (a lot of) wine and not do much in the way of exercise at all!
It wasn’t until I found Mama Be Fit in 2021 that my love for fitness resumed, and being able to bring Hector with me and let him play whilst I worked out was perfect! I also started weekly PT sessions with Katie and found a new passion for strength training, rather than the hours of endless cardio I was used to!
The Mama Be Fit community has not only been incredible for my physical and mental health but I've met the most supportive, encouraging and inspiring group of friends. So in Spring 2024, I decided to start my fitness qualifications and was delighted when Katie accepted my offer to help run some classes alongside my current part-time role in Higher Education.
I absolutely love meeting you all and helping you on your fitness journey, whatever your level or experience. It’s such a rewarding feeling and I can’t wait to welcome you to a Mama Be Fit class very soon... I promise you (and your little ones) will love it!

Anna McKenzie - Therapeutic Counsellor

Hi I'm Anna! I support women through
prenatal anxiety, miscarriage, IVF difficulties, postnatal mental health, PTSD, birth stories, motherhood anxiety and identity loss.

Women experience such a huge physical impact becoming mothers, and the mental impact can often be ignored and not given enough care.

Therapeutic counselling gives you the safe, non judgemental, empathic space to explore all these feelings and more.

So much can change during this time in your life that some mental support can make a real difference to this experience.

I offer face to face, phone and online 1:1 and group sessions. Please feel free to reach out below, I look forward to speaking with you!
